Mesquite ISD Teachers and Staff

• Since 2009, 100 percent of Mesquite ISD teachers meet state requirements to be considered "highly qualified.
• All of our instructional administrators possess a master's degree or higher advanced degree.
• More than half of our teachers -- 52 percent -- possess a master's degree or higher advanced degree.
• Each year, a striking number of our new hires are graduates of Mesquite ISD schools. This year, 20 percent of new hires are Mesquite ISD alumni.
• Mesquite ISD has one of the lowest teacher turnover rates (9.7%) of the more than 200 districts in the Region 10 area.
• Annually, more than 30 percent of new teacher hires are minorities.
