After placing 2nd in the State for CPR/First Aid, HOSA finalists Naila Abdalla and Megan Edgar from took home 5th place in the Nation in their event in Dallas, TX on June 21st.

BPA National Qualifiers

The Mesquite High School Parliamentary Procedures team from the organization Business Professionals of America placed 8th in the nation at the recently held National Leadership Conference at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine. Members of the team are Cameron McClure, Isaiah George, Eugene Brown, Khang Thai, Hanna Varughese, and Jordan Gonzales. BPA advisor is Mrs. Suzanna Jensen.

HOSA Students Advance to Nationals

Poteet HOSA winners go to Nationals
On November 30th Mesquite High School Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) participated in the Area 3 online testing competition where twenty-seven students tested. Of that the Parliamentary Procedure Team and Victoria Galbreath both finished first to qualify for the Area 3 Spring Leadership Conference in Irving, TX. Parliamentary Procedure Team members include: Khang Thai, Cameron McClure, Jordan Gonzales, Hanna Varughese, Eugene Brown, and Isaiah George (pictured left to right). Also finishing first out of 42 was Victoria Galbreath in the Medical Assisting competitive event. Of the 18 students that competed at State, two students from Poteet High School will go on to compete nationally. Naila Abdalla and Megan Edgar earned 2nd place in CPR/First Aid. Please congratulate these students and wish them well at nationals. 

Emerging Leaders of DECA Make Nationals

On January 20th at North Garland High School DECA students from across the region met up to compete for a
 spot in State. Mesquite ISD has 18 students who will go head to head with the best DECA students in the state on February 20th in downtown Dallas. Of the 18 who competed, two Mesquite ISD DECA students Raven McMillon & Skylar Norton from Poteet will present their Chapter Community Service Projects at the Georgia World Congress Center on April 23rd. 

JHHS LifeSmart Team Showcase at Nationals in California

FCCLA Lifesmarts students competed in Austin, TX in March and took First Place in Chapter Team Project. Imani Boyland (Captain), Kyler Freeman, Jennifer Arias, Jasmin Vasquez and Parker Smith will showcase at Nationals in San Diego, CA in April.
