Mesquite High HOSA Students Place First
On November 30th Mesquite High School Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) participated in the Area 3 online testing competition where twenty-seven students tested. Of that t
he Parliamentary Procedure Team and Victoria Galbreath both finished first to qualify for the Area 3 Spring Leadership Conference in Irving, TX. Parliamentary Procedure Team members include: Khang Thai, Cameron McClure, Jordan Gonzales, Hanna Varughese, Eugene Brown, and Isaiah George (pictured left to right). Also finishing first out of 42 was Victoria Galbreath in the Medical Assisting competitive event. 
In addition to these 7 individuals, we will take twenty-four students to the conference to compete in project-based events. 
Please congratulate these students and wish them well at regionals.

Mesquite ISD Law Practicum students
Mesquite's Practicum in Law Students Joined Forces with Eastfield PD for Hands on Training
On November 15th, Mesquite ISD Law Practicum students partnered with Eastfield Police Department to obtain observation hours and best police practices. For students wanting to major in criminal justice, this is yet another perfect avenue. Team Alpha and Team Bravo are being led by Captain Ellington and his team to practice weapon safety, self-defense, shot no shoot rules, and traffic laws.  

MHS Our Community: Mesquite Video
"Our Community: Mesquite" Project at Mesquite High School was a Success
The MHS Audio/Video Production class worked on the "Our Community: Mesquite" contest to win the Pizza Party. 

Their product about Mesquite,Texas showcased the wonderful opportunities that Mesquite ISD provides students through their programs and faculty in a promotional news video/commercial. Students were divided into groups of interviewers, camera operators, graphic designers, and video editors to work as a team to meet the deadline. The teams captured the essence of Mesquite through interviews and videos. See the final cut here:
