Student Transfer Requests

Student transfer requests for the 2025-26 school year will be open through Feb. 28, 2025, if you are:

  1. a full-time employee with student(s) in grades K-12 during the 2025-26 school year, or
  2. a parent/guardian resident of Mesquite ISD with K-12 student(s)

The above transfer requests must be submitted no later than the last day of February at 11:59 PM*.
*New full-time employees may request a student transfer upon hire.

District administration shall consider compelling hardship to the student or family, availability of space and instructional staff at both the school and within the feeder pattern, and the student’s disciplinary history and attendance records.

 

Important Things to Remember:

  • You will need to submit one form per student. 
  • School bus transportation is NOT provided to transfer students.
  • Students in K-12 are the only students eligible for a transfer.
  • Transfer requests must be submitted and approved annually. 
  • Notice of approval or denial will be communicated no later than the last day of the current school year.
  • Only one transfer may be approved per student per school year.

2025-26 Parent/Guardian Resident Student Transfer Request

On a very limited basis, MISD may approve students to transfer from one school to another. Victims of certain offenses defined by state law are given top priority and require legal documentation. A parent or guardian may request a transfer to another campus outside of their attendance zone as long as the parent or guardian is a district resident.

 

TRANSFER REQUEST FOR 2025-26 IS CLOSED

2025-26 Employee: Student Transfer Request

Full-time employees with students currently enrolled in MISD may request to transfer their student(s) to a different campus for the 2024-25 school year or request a renewal of the transfer to their current school.

NOTE: Transfer requests must be submitted and approved annually. 

 

TRANSFER REQUEST FOR 2025-26 IS CLOSED

2024-25 Employee: New to MISD Student Transfer Request

Full-time MISD employees with students who are not currently attending a Mesquite ISD school may request a transfer for their student(s) to MISD.

This request form is open year-round for newly hired MISD full-time employees.
