Class of 2025

Dancing has always been more than just movement to Faith Buckley; it’s where she first found her purpose. She was three years old when her mom signed her up for tap class, and the joy of making noise with her feet quickly grew into something deeper. Through Mesquite ISD’s dance programs, Faith discovered not only a passion but a place where she could truly be herself. Through Mesquite ISD’s dance programs, Faith found a space where she could grow not just as a performer but as a person.

As her love for dance grew, so did her confidence. Everything changed during her junior year when she stepped into a leadership role as junior lieutenant for the Belles Drill Team. “I found my voice when I stepped up to be captain,” she says. “It helped me realize people were looking up to me.” That experience taught her how to lead with empathy, foster strong relationships, and live out her values through consistent action.

Faith’s leadership skills extend beyond her high school team, as she actively contributes to Mesquite’s Steppin' Out Dance Company, where she serves as a student teacher for younger students. By mentoring and inspiring younger dancers, she is paying forward the support and encouragement she once received.

Faith’s goals reflect both her heart and her drive. She hopes to become a teacher and a real estate agent, building a future that honors the sacrifices her family has made. Her ultimate dream is to take care of her parents and give back the love and support they have always shown her.

Inspired by her faith and by mentors like Mrs. Henry, Faith is driven by a deep sense of purpose. “The little things matter,” she says. “A look, a smile; they can go a long way.” Whether she’s encouraging her team, connecting with younger students, or simply showing up with kindness, Faith leads by example. Her favorite reminder: “It’s only a bad day if you let it be one.” With a strong heart and even stronger Faith, she’s ready for whatever comes next
