West Mesquite High School student Adison Robbins, Class of 2027, received the surprise of a lifetime when she was awarded a $40,000 BigFuture® Scholarship from College Board during a special presentation before the school’s student-faculty volleyball game on May 22.
The surprise announcement took place in front of classmates, family members, teachers, administrators, and College Board representatives, who gathered to celebrate Adison’s achievement and bright future.
A standout student-athlete and 18 Under 18 honoree, Adison has distinguished herself both inside and outside the classroom. She is a three-year AVID student taking dual enrollment courses while excelling in track and field. Known for her kindness, leadership, and positive attitude, Adison also serves as a Peer Helper and plans to pursue a career in the health field after graduation.
Adison is one of more than 30,000 students nationwide to receive a BigFuture Scholarship since the program launched in 2019. College Board’s BigFuture Scholarships program helps students take steps toward planning for college and careers by exploring interests, identifying colleges and majors, and accessing financial aid opportunities. Each month, two students across the country are awarded $40,000 scholarships through the program.
