If your child will be 5 years old by September 1, 2026, now is the time to register for Kindergarten, an important step that sets the foundation for future academic success. Enrollment for students new to Mesquite ISD entering Kindergarten opens on April 1, giving families the opportunity to prepare early. Starting school on time helps children build essential skills, develop confidence, and establish routines that support learning and growth.
NOTE: If your child is currently enrolled in the MISD Pre-K 4-year-old program, you do not need to re-enroll for 2026-27 Kindergarten. You will need to complete returning student registration in Skyward when it opens on July 1, 2026.
Pre-K Enrollment
Pre-K gives children a strong start by nurturing confidence, independence, and a love of learning during the years when their brains grow the fastest.
Kindergarten Enrollment
A strong start to early childhood learning is more critical than ever, and we can’t wait to welcome our youngest learners to Mesquite ISD.
