Class of 2027

Luis Martinez is an accomplished student leader whose passion for academics and the arts sets him apart at Poteet High School. As a junior, he has excelled across a range of rigorous programs, including Speech and Debate, Academic Decathlon, Mock Trial, and Orchestra. 

Now in his third year of debate, Luis has distinguished himself in Lincoln-Douglas competition, advancing to the regional level and demonstrating strong critical thinking, poise, and persuasive skills. 

Through his diverse involvement, Luis reflects a commitment to intellectual growth and performance, making the most of the opportunities available to him in Mesquite ISD while continuing to challenge himself at the highest level.

What’s Next?

Luis is considering attending either UCLA or the University of Notre Dame to study law. His ultimate career goal is to become a prosecutor.
