Mesquite ISD Welcomes New Trustees

The Mesquite ISD Board of Trustees marked an important moment for the district during its June 8 meeting as newly elected and returning trustees were officially sworn in, beginning a new chapter of leadership.
- Suzanne Hawk was appointed by the board in a 6-0 vote to fill Place 2 until the next regularly scheduled election, succeeding Eddie Rose
- Cassandra Morris was sworn in to serve in Place 3, succeeding Gary Bingham
- Greg Everett was sworn in to continue to serve in Place 4
- Robert Seward was sworn in to continue to serve in Place 5
- Dr. Susan Williams was sworn in to serve in Place 6, succeeding Elaine Hornsby
Special guest Texas State Representative Rhetta Bowers was on hand to swear in Trustee Morris. She also presented proclamations to the newly elected, re-elected, and outgoing board members.
At the meeting, the Board also elected officers for the upcoming year. Mr. Seward will once again serve as board president. Greg Everett will serve as vice president, and Kevin Carbo will be the board secretary.
