Made in Mesquite: Adrienne Johnson

Adrienne Johnson’s passion for helping others has led her on a fulfilling career path centered around compassion, advocacy, and lifelong learning. Today, she serves as a Clinical Social Worker at Children’s Medical Center while also owning a private practice, Peace of Mind Therapy & Consulting, PLLC.
Johnson's career path wasn't always clear, but her desire to serve others began at an early age. As a student in Mesquite ISD, she initially envisioned her future in healthcare as a nurse, completing clinical rotations while enrolled at Horn High School. It didn't take long for her to realize that nursing wasn't the right fit, but her interest in healthcare and helping others never waivered. After graduating from high school in 2010, Johnson attended the University of North Texas, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. It was during that time that she found her true calling. Johnson completed an internship at the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center as an undergrad, which is when she was first introduced to the field of social work and immediately knew that this was the career for her.
