Made in Mesquite: Katie Clay

What began as a dream of working for a magazine eventually led Katie Clay to a career that allows her to combine creativity, storytelling, and service. She’s currently a Visual Media Associate at Community Life Church in Forney, where she helps bring stories to life through video production and creative media. Although the path led her to a different destination, Clay feels fulfilled in her current role and finds joy in being part of work that’s greater than herself.
As a student at Poteet High School, Clay was heavily involved in extracurricular activities, participating in both cheerleading and the Pirate Band. It was during that time that she interned for Brides of North Texas magazine, now Wed Society. This experience peaked her interest and inspired her to pursue a degree in Communications & Public Relations at Dallas Baptist University. Like many young adults, Clay entered college with a vision for her future and dreams of working in the magazine industry, however, life had other plans.
