Made in Mesquite: Dominiqua Reed
Dominiqua Reed’s journey is defined by perseverance, leadership, and a commitment to paying it forward. As a first-generation college graduate, completing her education was always of utmost importance. Although she didn’t have a roadmap to follow, Reed was determined to succeed, and that she did, building strong relationships along the way. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Administration with a Double Minor in Human Resource Management and Public Relations from the University of Houston, where she developed a passion for community engagement and event management. These skills were initially fostered through experiences Reed had during undergrad as a member of the first historically Black sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She credits pledging at the University of Houston as being one of her proudest moments, along with earning her Bachelor’s Degree.
