The October Board Meeting’s special recognitions portion began with the Apple Corps program, honoring Selena Acosta of Hanby Elementary School and Nydia Marquez of Mackey Elementary School. Mesquite High School Registrar Secretary Virginia Swint was also honored as the October Star Para. We’d like to extend a special thanks to First Financial Group of America (FFGA), Mesquite Education Foundation and Clay Cooley of Mesquite for their partnership in helping us celebrate these outstanding educators and staff members each month.

The Mesquite Fire Department was also recognized as the October Community Partner for their generous partnership and commitment to providing enriching educational experiences for Mesquite ISD students. During the summer, the department led two Blaze Brigade camps for more than 35 MISD elementary students, giving them the opportunity to learn, explore and engage in hands-on experiences.
