Mesquite ISD Emerging Leaders Come Together for Fifth Annual Fall Social

For Mesquite ISD's Emerging Leaders, some of the most valuable lessons in leadership come from the people they meet, the stories they hear, and the experiences they share.
The district's fifth annual Emerging Leaders Fall Social brought together middle and high school student leaders from across Mesquite ISD for an evening of meaningful conversations, new friendships, and opportunities to learn from one another.
Students heard from two Mesquite ISD graduates who once walked the same halls they do today. Dr. Latrice Totsch, a 2001 West Mesquite High School graduate, and Parker Hall, a 2005 John Horn High School graduate, shared how their experiences in Mesquite ISD helped shape who they are today and how they continue to make a difference through leadership. A student panel featuring representatives from each Mesquite ISD high school also shared their perspectives and experiences.
Beyond the presentations, students participated in team-building activities, exchanged ideas, and connected with Emerging Leaders from other campuses. The evening was largely led by the students themselves. From opening and closing the program to introducing guest speakers, Emerging Leaders had the opportunity to put their leadership skills into practice.
The Emerging Leaders Fall Social has become a tradition students look forward to throughout the year. This year's event welcomed approximately 200 students and 27 sponsors, bringing together young leaders who are already finding their voices, building relationships, and learning how to make a difference.
