Mesquite ISD Earns Award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture

Mesquite ISD recently earned the silver Turnip the Beet! Award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for our Summer Meals Program! This national recognition celebrates organizations who go above and beyond to serve high-quality summer meals that are nutritious, appealing and delicious for children. The district was one of only 171 organizations from across the country to win this award.

We’d like to extend a special congratulations to the MISD Food & Nutrition Department for this honor and for all of their work to ensure every student receives nutritious meals.
