Standard of Excellence Recognition
Defining what it means to live the Promise.
The Mesquite Promise represents what we believe about every person in our district:
we are made to excel, we can make a difference, our dignity is a given, and we all belong here.
Across Mesquite ISD, campuses and departments bring those beliefs to life every day.
The Standard of Excellence Award recognizes those moments when a team takes
the Promise beyond words and demonstrates what it looks like at an exceptional level.
Who can be nominated?
Any Mesquite ISD campus or department may be nominated by an MISD staff member.
A strong nomination should:
- Clearly demonstrate one or more of the four Mesquite Promise beliefs: Made to Excel, Making a Difference, Dignity Is a Given, or Everyone Belongs Here
- Advance one or more district strategic priorities: Safety & Belonging, Student Outcomes, Student Opportunities, or Finance & Operations
- Reflect the collective effort of a team, department, campus or system—not simply the work of one individual
- Demonstrate exceptional impact beyond expected or routine performance
- Include measurable results and/or compelling evidence of impact
- Highlight practices that are innovative, sustainable or could serve as a model for others across MISD
Before you submit
The Standard of Excellence Award is intended to recognize exceptional examples of the Promise in action, rather than routine accomplishments or the work of a single individual.
Ask yourself: Does this example help define what it looks like to live the Mesquite Promise at an exceptional level?
If the answer is yes, we want to hear the story.
