As Mesquite ISD prepares for the 2025–2026 school year, families are encouraged to take note of several important dates. Here is everything you need to know to get ready for the first day of school.

Returning Student Registration Opens July 1
Beginning Tuesday, July 1, returning students must complete online registration in order to receive their class schedule or be assigned a teacher. This step is required for all returning students and should be completed through Skyward Family Access as soon as possible.

Back-to-School Events by Grade Level
Families will have the opportunity to visit campuses, meet teachers, and get familiar with classroom locations during scheduled back-to-school events. Times vary by school level.

• Elementary – Supply Drop-Off Night
  Wednesday, August 6, 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  Students and their families may bring school supplies directly to the classroom and briefly meet their child’s teacher.
   
• High School – Walk the Schedule
  Wednesday, August 6, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  Students and parents will have the opportunity to walk through the student’s schedule and meet each teacher.
   
• Middle School – Walk the Schedule
  Thursday, August 7, 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  Students and families are invited to walk through class schedules, with opportunities to meet teachers before the start of the new school year.

First Day of School – Tuesday, August 12
The first day of school for all MISD students is Tuesday, August 12. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another great year of learning and growth!
